We will never know the truth of events we don’t witness.
Everything we’ve accepted as historical truth in regard to the private lives of public figures of political importance are in reality just political truths with historical effects - what today we accept as lies spread about Marie Antoinette by her political opponents were, at the time, received by the general public as scandalous and revolting truths.
In this piece we portray the public’s frivolous relationship with the truth. Everything here is false.
We can, however, establish some parallels between the historical characters we are representing and those who work in today's political / social field:

About the author

Luís Malaquias began studying dance in Leiria. In 2012 he graduated from Escola Superior de Dança in Lisbon, where the highlights were working with Cristina Graça, Barbara Griggi, Amélia Bentes, José Grave, Teresa Ranieri, Gonçalo Amorim, among others. He’s worked as a dancer with choreographers such as Benvindo Fonseca, Daniel Cardoso, Ricardo Ambrózio, Bruno Duarte, Nuno Gomes, Margarida Belo Costa and Elson Ferreira, São Castro and António Cabrita, Luís Marrafa, among others and with teachers / Répétiteurs Maria João Lopes, Caia Sampaio and Rui Reis, for the Quorum Ballet - Companhia de Dança Contemporânea, Companhia de Dança de Almada (Ca.DA) and as a freelancer. He choreographed professionally for the first time in 2018 for Ca.DA, working together with Bruno Duarte on the piece "A Invenção da Resposta". He was a co-producer and performer in the videodance "P48" (2012), shown at the 20th Quinzena de Dança de Almada, and "5" (2013) shown at the Caldas Late Night (Portugal), L'art difficile de filmer la danse, (Belgium) and InShadow (Portugal) festivals in which he won the award for best video in competition - audience choice. In 2018 he developed the videodance project "The Art of Losing", about the homonymous piece of São Castro, which was the first film produced by CaDA in collaboration with producer Mares do Sul, directed by Cristina Ferreira Gomes. Between 2010 and 2018 he taught contemporary dance at institutions such as Annarella - Academia de Ballet e Dança, Arabesque - Academia de Dança and Quórum Academy. On and off, during the same period, he taught, conducted workshops and was a guest choreographer in several schools in the Lisbon area, including Escola Superior de Dança, Centro de Artes de Marvila and Almadança school. He is currently a dancer in the regular cast of the Companhia de Dança de Almada and a graduate student in Osteopathy at Escola Superior de Saúde Ribeiro Sanches.
