Between July 5 and 9, Companhia de Dança de Almada receives partners, for an intensive workshop dedicated to sharing and discussing methods in dance training. In Almada, we will have the participation of Agnieszka Jachym (Polish Dance Theatre), Jivko Jeliazkov (Derida Dance), Marley Braff and Vincent Colomes (ICK Amsterdam), Azzurra Schena and Emanuele Burrafato (Balletto di Roma).
The workshop is open to dancers, students and teachers of Companhia de Dança de Almada. It represents this Company’s interest in fostering international contacts, in order to assure dancers and students the best practices concerning training in dance. It is part of a policy of development of new methodologies, focused on the future of Dance in Portugal.
On July 6th, tuesday, there will be a public session in Fórum Municipal Romeu Correia, on Sala Pablo Neruda, Almada, at 5PM, about "Philosophy and pedagogical aims in European Dance schools", organized by Companhia de Dança de Almada. In this session, broadcast on the Zoom platform, the teaching projects will be presented by each partner dance school. The session will take place in English. The Up2DANCE project aims to survey the situation at European level, in order to support the modernization of education and training systems, in particular through better use of EU transparency and recognition tools and the exchange of good practices related to dance industry at European level, in order to boost the process of harmonizing and updating the curriculum of professional profiles according to the requirements of the contemporary scenario.
In Portugal, the Up2DANCE project is represented by Companhia de Dança de Almada, in collaboration with partners Balletto di Roma (Italy), leader of the project, Derida Dance Centre (Bulgary), Magenta Consultoria (Spain), Polish Dance Theatre (Poland) e ICK (Netherlands).
