The 33rd edition of the Quinzena de Dança de Almada - International Dance Festival has been announced, with the poster image and main highlights of the programme revealed, which will take place from September 27 to October 12, 2025.

The festival will open with the celebration of the 35th anniversary of Companhia de Dança de Almada. On stage, former and current company dancers will reunite to bring to life memories, emotions, and gestures that transcend generations. It will also be a tribute to José Pacheco, sound engineer and technical coordinator, whose passion and dedication have always helped to build the company's history.

Artists and creations will come from around the world and promise to surprise. The renowned Aura Dance Theatre from Lithuania presents a piece in collaboration with the Norwegian company Panta Rei. From the United States, choreographies by Maia Melene D’Urfé and Ashley Menestrina will be showcased, returning to Almada after the impact of their 2019 performance.

Two rising names of the European dance scene will be in residence: Spanish choreographer Jesús Benzal, who has a project that delves into a creation that combines music and movement in a process of shared research, and Italian Alessio Damiani, who returns to work with the dancers of Ca.DA, exploring the potential for transformation and personal discovery through movement.

And in between, the International Platform for Choreographers - the beating heart of the festival - will return to gather creators, programmers, and audiences for performances, video dance, workshops, and discussions. It is a vibrant space for encounter and exchange, where new networks are woven and the future of contemporary dance is imagined.
