The Companhia de Dança de Almada | Ca.DA Escola announces the opening of applications for auditions for access to the Basic and High School Course in Dance, in an articulated teaching regime, for the academic year 2026/2027. This is a unique opportunity for young students with a vocation for dance who wish to combine excellent artistic training with regular schooling.
Ca.DA Escola, recognized for the quality of its training, offers this course in articulation with the Agrupamento de Escolas EmÃdio Navarro and the Escola Secundária Fernão Mendes Pinto, prestigious general education establishments in Almada.
This duly formalized partnership allows students to simultaneously pursue the regular school curriculum and the specialized dance study plan, with the artistic component subjects taught at the Companhia de Dança de Almada | Ca.DA Escola facilities. The articulated program is approved by the Ministry of Education (DGEstE), guaranteeing the validity and recognition of the educational path.
Applications are open to students who, in the 2026/27 school year, will be in the 2nd and 3rd cycles of Basic School (5th to 9th grade) for entry into the Basic Dance Course (1st to 5th grade); and High School (10th to 12th grade) for entry into the Intermediate Dance Course (6th to 8th grade).
Those interested should register by April 15, 2026, by filling out an online form, accessible on the official website of the Almada Dance Company: www.cdanca-almada.pt. On April 13th, at 7:30 PM, an information session will be held at the Ca.DA Escola premises.
The auditions, crucial moments for evaluating the aptitude and potential of the candidates, are scheduled for the following dates, taking place at the studios of the Companhia de Dança de Almada | Ca.DA Escola:
- April 17, 2026 (Friday), at 5 PM: Audition for candidates for the 3rd cycle of Basic School and High School (7th to 12th grade / 3rd to 8th grade of EAE).
- April 24, 2026 (Friday), at 5 PM: Audition for candidates for the 2nd cycle of Basic School (5th and 6th grades / 1st and 2nd levels of EAE).
Candidates admitted to the auditions must be enrolled in one of the partner schools (Agrupamento de Escolas EmÃdio Navarro and Escola Secundária Fernão Mendes Pinto) in the 2026/27 school year to benefit from the articulated dance education program.
The Companhia de Dança de Almada | Ca.DA Escola has a consolidated track record in specialized artistic training, offering since 2018/19 the Basic and High School Course in Dance, in addition to Regular Classes since its foundation in 1990. The curriculum is taught by a highly qualified group of teachers, providing students with rigorous and comprehensive training in the various aspects of dance, preparing them to pursue higher education in the field or a professional career.
