Choreography by Margarida Belo Costa
2018 Season Program, premiered on 21st and 22nd of September in Teatro Municipal Joaquim Benite, Almada
Taking the opera "Carmen", by Georges Bizet (1838-1875) as it’s starting point and then following its own course, "p.s. CARMEN" is a contemporary dance piece that transposes to the stage the experience of a woman with whom we can identify, regardless of gender. It is the deconstruction of mystery, of seduction, of power, materiality and obsession. It is a vision of a female who does not hide her instincts, who captures her prey, but who, on the flip side of the coin is also seduced in the deceit. This contemporary being, this female body, protected and victim of its mesmerizing beauty, embodies several questions.
